What's new at Bright Ideas Event Coordinators?AND THE WINNER IS...BRIGHT IDEAS EVENTS - BEST THEME DESIGN 
Bright Ideas Events won the "Best Theme Design Challenge Award" during the 2009 Canadian Special Events Meeting & Exhibition (CSEME) Trade Show held on October 21, 2009 at the Rocky Mountaineer Train Station in Vancouver. The competition included 4 of Vancouver's top design teams creating their magical Table Top design. Bright Ideas choose an organic theme "5 Senses... Naturally". The display contained a live lilac tree in the centre of the table surrounded by a live wheat grass top and trailing ivy skirting. Planted in the grass were fresh flowers such as roses, iris, gerber daisies, etc. Each of the 5 senses were customized PartyHats and each place setting was adorned with a freshly cut tree stump as a chair. A big thanks to Kati Friedrich, Judy Geisbrecht, Benji Suzara, Dennis Turnbull and Carolina Chang for their amazing creative contribution! BRIGHT IDEAS EVENTS - BEST THEME DECOR Bright Ideas Events was awarded "Best Theme Décor at the BC Event Awards" for their Wild, Wild, West Casino. This award entitles Bright Ideas to automatically be entered into the National Competition at the CSEME in Toronto in the spring of 2010. An authentic Wild West Town was created through the use of western backdrops, wagon wheels, hay bales, fencing, western games, entertainment and activities. Event staff donned denim cowboy shirts, blue jeans, cowboy hats & bandanas. Saloon Girls invited guests to enter through swinging saloon doors, discovering a casino inside which was hosted by western dealers dressed in armbands, bolo ties and derby hats. View event photos.  "UNDER THE BIG TOP" Winning at the International Special Events Society (ISES) Buffet Blowout Competition on Thursday, April 23, 2009 was our third win in 3 years! Bright Ideas Events won the "Best Design Award" which was awarded by celebrity judges. The annual event is a Buffet Style Competition where Vancouver's top caterers team up with design companies to create a visual, tasting experience for the guests. The event occurred at Can Am Importique in Burnaby. The overall theme of the evening was "We all play in the same Sandbox". Bright Ideas was paired with Culinary Capers Catering to represent a Carnival theme. One competitor created a Beach Theme and the other a Playground Theme. Our approach each year to the Buffet Blowout is to showcase our creative talent in a fresh, innovative way that weaves the theme throughout our display. And this year tops them all!!! Since our theme was Carnival, we decided to create a "Big Top Carnival" experience complete with silk draped ceiling, live animals (sort of), Half Man/Half Woman, Spin Art, Tattoos and lots of sweet treats like Mini Cotton Candy Puffs, Savory Popcorn and Cheesecake on a Tight Rope.
