What's new at Bright Ideas Event Coordinators?

Richmond Special Event Producer Nominated For Business Award

Vancouver, BC, Feb. 23, 2011 -
Sharon Bonner, president and founder of Bright Ideas Event Coordinators Ltd has been nominated in the business category of the 2011 Ethel Tibbits Women of Distinction Awards. Awarded each year, to women who have made significant contributions to local communities, the Tibbits awards recognize achievements in five categories: Arts, Sports, Youth, Business, and Community.

As an event producer, Bonner is committed to a philosophy of sustainability.

"Preserving our environment and helping the community promote social and economic longevity is a big part of how we approach event coordination at Bright Ideas,” says Bonner. “For over 35 years we have considered mutual respect, trust, and exceeding expectations as the foundation of successful events. I’m proud to say that approach has paid dividends, through satisfied clients and a thriving business. Now, with sustainability top of mind for many people, we help companies put on memorable events incorporating eco-friendly innovations, such as bio-degradable disposable cutlery and ethical sourcing of food, beverages, flowers, and décor."

Bright Ideas Events Coordinators Ltd. is involved with many community associations, including the Arts Umbrella Outreach program, BCSPCA, Richmond Chamber of Commerce, and Crossroads Hospice Foundation. In addition, Sharon contributes her expertise to the events industry, as a past board member of the International Special Events Society (ISES) Vancouver chapter and as a member of the Canadian Special Event Society (CSES).

The fundraising luncheon for the 2011 Ethel Tibbits Women of Distinction Awards will take place at the Radisson Hotel Vancouver Airport, 8181 Cambie Road, Richmond on Monday, March 7, 2011 at noon. The luncheon’s primary beneficiary is the Nova Transition House for battered women and their children, operated by Chimo Crisis Services.

Bright Ideas Takes Gold at CSEME 2010

Bright Ideas Event Coordinators Ltd added another winning trophy to the awards shelf on Wednesday, Oct. 27, at the British Columbia Event Industry Awards in Vancouver.

Bright Idea's win came in the 'Best Event produced for a Corporation' category. After 12 years of producing this event, we needed to create a fresh, new theme that appealed to both adults and children. Viola! A winner was found with the Rock N Roll Beach BBQ.

Guests were treated to a complete 1950's experience with Antique Cars, Rock N’ Roll Band, appearances by Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley, and a wide range of picnic and drive-in classic dishes to enjoy. The hit of the party were the keepsake crafts - decorated Cat Eye Glasses, Yo-Yos, and Chiffon Scarves.

Bright Ideas Events owner Sharon Bonner said the win is also a credit to her suppliers. "Because we have a great team of people, the whole crew enjoys the work, it goes smoothly, and that makes for a great event for guests and staff."
