Recognizing an employee for 40 years of service demanded a custom event. Bright Ideas Event Coordinators created a theme perfect for such an occasion with Fairways of Flavour – a culinary trip through the decades, from the 70s to the present. The guest of honour’s love of golf and Arizona provided the theme, featured through tee flagsticks, native plants, and Southwestern decor at each of the food stations. His favourite foods were the inspiration for the menu.
Guests gathered at the Vancouver Art Gallery for a Gala evening with colleagues. Four separate areas of the Art Gallery displayed a different season. The most popular season was summer which showcased Mexican cuisine at its finest.
Global software partners gathered for a fun filled Gala Awards Dinner at the Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Vancouver Hotel while enjoying a bit of friendly competition.
Oktoberfest in February? We made it happen. Guests were greeted by costumed actors in Lederhosen as they entered the venue which had been transformed to resemble a Festhalle setting. German beer tasting stations surrounded a flowing cast iron fountain in the Platz. Guests were amazed at the 24’ ribbon ring which was suspended above the stage where a German band belted out authentic Oktoberfest songs.
Local VIP’s and dignitaries gathered for a first-hand look at a new development in New Westminster, BC. A reception followed at the Fraser River Discovery Centre where historical displays of The Brewery District were available for viewing.
VIP’s, local politicians and staff gathered in celebration at the Grand Opening of the new office location. Guests were treated to plant tours via golf carts and enjoyed tasty canapés and cool refreshments. Upon departure, everyone was given a “gold bar” as an event souvenir.
Over 2,000 guests filled the streets, parking lot and credit union branch in celebration of the opening of the Burnaby Heights Westminster Savings Credit Union. Bobs and Lolo entertained the eager crowd while others tried to win prizes in the money booth.
Business colleagues joined in the “cruise ship fun” as they sailed the high seas in first class style. Guests visited 3 Ports of Call during the evening and experienced cuisine and entertainment from Mexico, Greece and Jamaica. Theme entertainment greeted the guests as they sailed into each port.
When Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan came to Vancouver for their first official visit together, Bright Ideas was awarded the task of ensuring the official arrival went off without a hitch. Accommodating the demands of security, protocol, media, and the public meant that every aspect of the visit had to be coordinated with a variety of government and other official organizations.
Western themes are always a good fit for events in British Columbia. It’s a chance to celebrate a bit of heritage, enjoy hearty local dishes, and wear a cowboy hat! This event featured Klondike-era entertainment with dancing girls and casino games, a wide variety of foods, from dainty finger food, to finger licking good BBQ dishes, all surrounded by décor to recreate an authentic looking Western town complete with storefronts, boardwalks, and hay bales.
