There was also a little marketing piece on the back. Notice the white

out on the phone number. I accidentally printed my old phone number

on the card. Duh!




















So, I now have business cards and letterhead. But where were the

clients? I learned in business school to stick with your target market.

So I did, turning down every event that wasn’t a corporate event. There
were dozens of them. It was heartbreaking. It was one of the hardest

things I have ever done in my life! Here I was with no jobs, $15,000 in

debt, and nothing on the horizon. However, I had one thing – hope.
And that got me through the next few years.



Bright Ideas Tip:



Identify your target market and find creative ways to reach them. And
don’t give up. Always have hope.
