Social Responsibility and the Environment

WE ARE SOCIALLY, ENVIRONMENTALLY & SAFETY RESPONSIBLE!

As event producers, Bright Ideas is committed to a philosophy of sustainability, both in preserving our environment and helping our community develop social and economic longevity.

Social responsibility statement

Bright Ideas Events Coordinators Ltd conducts our business in a socially responsible manner involving the following practices:

  1. We conduct our business in an open, honest, and ethical manner.
  2. We ensure that all employees are treated fairly and with dignity and that diversity in the workplace is embraced.
  3. We apply fair labor practices, respecting national and local laws.
  4. We will not engage in or tolerate unlawful workplace conduct, including discrimination, intimidation or harassment.
  5. We advise all our suppliers, contractors, and employees of these policies.  With our network of partner-suppliers, we can ensure ethical sourcing of food, beverages, flowers, and décor. Wherever possible, we work with suppliers who share this commitment and whose products and services are sensitive to their impact on the environment and the community.

Community investment

Bright Ideas Events Coordinators Ltd. is involved with many community associations including the Arts Umbrella Outreach program, BC SPCA, Richmond Chamber of Commerce and Crossroads Hospice Foundation.

Environmental responsibility statement

  • Whenever possible, Bright Ideas Event Coordinators Ltd. uses materials and equipment which can be rented or reused after the event.
  • We inform our suppliers that we prefer materials and supplies that have a low impact on the environment.
  • If the materials cannot be reused, then we make every effort to use products that can be recycled or that are constructed out of recycled material. By working with materials that can be reused, we are able to reduce construction costs, a true savings to our environment.
  • Leftover event décor materials, such as carpeting and fabric, are often donated to schools, art colleges, or community theatres.

Bright Ideas Events Coordinators Ltd. is committed to protecting the health and safety of all individuals affected by our activities, including our employees, contractors and the public. We provide a safe and healthy working environment and believe strongly in the prevention of accidents and injuries.
